Welcome to Nsis

Hey everyone and welcome to the NSiS website! We are very excited to have you here, my name is Kate Strangway and I will be your guide to everything science this summer. I have just finished my first year of sciences at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, and now I am home for the summer. Many of you will know me better for my involvement with the arts around Terrace; I have been a dancer for thirteen years and a teacher for eight. When I was fifteen I started up my own small dance studio, Kinetics, around the same time I also started my contract work with the City. Even though the arts hold a special place in my heart it’s the sciences that really motivate and inspire me. I suppose it’s the idea that the sciences are all around us that fascinates me. The everyday miracles that people so easily over look are what got me excited about the sciences. Small miracles like plants making their own food with nothing but air, sunlight, and water!! Women creating new life without even thinking about it! Even just the physics behind vehicles is absolutely amazing. This world we live in is fascinating with new discoveries around every corner. I can’t wait to share my experiences with all of you this summer, stay posted to see what NSiS is up too. Here is a picture of me at the lava beds!
