Quantum Leaps Conference

Science and technology-related careers offer women many exciting opportunities and our annual Quantum Leaps Conference showcases just that and more.

In physics and chemistry, a ‘Quantum Leap’ is the jump of an electron from one energy level to another within an atom.  Similarly, the Quantum Leaps Conference provides a forum for young women in Grades 10, 11 and 12 to tap into the personal growth experiences of female professionals who have successful careers in science and technology.  From physiotherapists to metallurgists, the conference brings together an interesting mix of female professionals and mentors.  With a series of interactive panel discussions, as well as, a keynote speaker the participants engage in discussions around career and post-secondary education options.

Hosted by UNBC in partnership with local non-profit, Northwest Science and Innovation Society (NSIS) and provincial non-profit the Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology – ms. Infinity program (SCWIST), this free conference is a great opportunity for young women to connect, ask questions and get inspired for the future.

UNBC in collaboration with NWCC offers a Bachelor of Science Integrated Program in the Northwest.  For more information visit www.unbc.ca or the UNBC Terrace Campus.

SCWIST promotes, encourages and empowers women and girls in science, engineering and technology.  Ms. Infinity programs are offered across BC and Yukon and expose young women to interesting and exciting career options and positive female role models who are pursuing dynamic careers and education in science and technology.  Click for more info.
